This cousin to DIYine: A Celebration of Homebrewing will offer samples of all manner of fermented foods made at home or by local businesses, such as saurkraut, cheese, beer, wine, salami, yogurt, tempeh, kombucha, pickles, kefir, kim chi, and more.
With a wide range of foods and beverages, as well as live music, and a bigger space than last year, this 2nd annual Counter Cultures is sure to be another extraordinary evening.
For those interested in a more hands-on approach, this year’s event will also include three workshops in a side room. Topics will include examples of fermenting with beans (miso & tempeh), vegetables (sauerkraut & pickles), and dairy (kefir & kefir cheese).
Counter Cultures is being co-hosted by the Fruit Tree Project and Seven Bridges Cooperative, a certified organic homebrew supply store.
Other sponsors include Farmhouse Culture, Companion Bakeshop, Creative Cultures, El Salchichero, India Joze, Bonny Doon Vineyard, Santa Cruz Local Foods, Hidden Peak Teahouse, Freedom Wineworks, & Printshop Santa Cruz.
