We are pleased to announce our third annual DIYine event, a celebration of the art of homebrew featuring homemade fruit wines, meads, beers, and soft drinks. Plum port, oaked cider, and sparkling pineapple guava wine are just a few of the amazing concoctions that will be available for tasting at this not-to-be-missed event. Donated by over a dozen local hobbyists, the beverages will include plum, feijoa, loquat, persimmon, and apple ferments made from fruit picked with the Fruit Tree Project. The entire menu is available for preview on our blog.
The event will also include hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a silent auction, as well as some home-brewing workshops. Classes will be held in a side room and will include a Fruit Wine Workshop with Randy West of Freedom Wineworks, and Capturing Wild Yeasts with Baerie Wingo, which will focus especially on making mead. To inquire about sharing your own beverages or donating to the silent auction, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
TICKETS are sliding scale: $20-50 in advance, minimum $25 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Santa Cruz Fruit Tree Project. (Scroll down to purchase your tickets.) Online sales close Friday at midnight, but tickets are still available at the door.
DIYine is cosponsored by Seven Bridges Cooperative, our organic homebrew supply store.
